Heading Style
You can use Heading Style to adjust the presentation of chapter headings in your book.
Every Style in Vellum includes multiple options for headings, which you can choose from and adjust in this panel.

Configuring Heading Style
With your Style selected, click the Configure button:
This will take you to a list of Style Features in your book. Heading will be selected to start.
Heading Presets
Each Style includes multiple options for how Headings are presented. You can choose from these options in the Heading preset carousel:
Heading Preset Settings
To adjust the appearance of a Preset, press the
Settings
button
(found under the carousel)
to access its controls:

Controls

Heading Size
Adjusts the overall size — including whitespace — of the Heading

Alignment
Flips alignment from left to right, or vice versa
Not shown for centered presets

Chapter Numbers
Changes how the chapter number is displayed (e.g. 1 or Chapter One)

Text Size
Scales the size of text in the Heading up or down

Heading Image Controls
If your chapters have Heading Images, you’ll see these controls:

Image Size
Scales the size of the image

Position
Changes the position of image relative to text
Only available for centered presets

Include In
Configures heading images to appear only in ebooks or only in print

Parts and Volumes
If your book contains Parts — or Volumes from a Box Set — you will see a second set of controls:
Use these controls to adjust the appearance of headings for the Parts or Volumes in your book.
