Uploading to Google Play
You can list your ebook on Google Play via the Google Books Partner Center.
To begin, sign up to publish with Google Play. If you already have a Gmail account, you can simply log in to get started.
Add a Book
On the Partner Center home page, select Book Catalog from the options on the left. Use the Add Book button to create a new ebook:
Under Select a Sell Option, choose Sell ebook on Google Play:
Book ID
Google needs a way to identify your book.
An ISBN is not required to publish an ebook with Google, but if you have one, choose Use an ISBN or EAN and then provide the book’s ISBN:
Otherwise, choose Get a Google book ID (GGKEY) to have Google assign one for free:
Book Info
Once you’ve chosen to create an ebook, you’ll be prompted to enter information about it.
The Book Info tab is split into five sections. Under the About the Book tab, you can enter your book’s basic details, like Title, Description, and Publication date:
You can find more information about each section in Google Play’s help pages:
Content
In the Content section, you will upload the files generated by Vellum for Google Play. To begin, press Upload a file:
Then, select the generated files to Upload:
- The-Invisible-Man-Google.epub (content)
- The-Invisible-Man-Google.jpg (cover)
Pricing
In the Pricing tab, you’ll set the price for your book. Begin by setting the currency (e.g., USD), then enter your price:
More information can be found on Google’s Price Settings page.
Google allows you to set different prices regionally. If you have enabled currency conversion in the Payment Center, you can provide a single price, and Google will convert it for every country where they sell your book.
Review and Publish
In the Review tab, confirm that all the information is correct before publishing your book. If you notice any issues, click the field and you’ll be taken to the relevant tab to make corrections.
Once you’re satisfied with your book’s settings, press Publish.
